LUKASZ KUROPACZEWSKI

Lukasz Kuropaczewski took his first guitar lessons at the age of ten, shortly thereafter taking up musical studies at the State School of Music in Slupca in the class of Agata Gierlowska and continued his education at the State School of Music in Konin in the class of Andrzej Majewski. He attended master classes given by: Jorge Cardoso, Stepan Rak, Joaquin Clerch, Pavel. Steidl, and regularly took lessons with Carl Marchione. Since 1994 his artistic education has been managed by Prof. Piotr Zaleski of the Academy of Music in Wroclaw (Poland). Kuropaczewski’s talent has been acknowledged by the many prizes he has won at domestic and international competitions:
  • 1993 - 2nd prize at the National Guitar Competition in Konin
  • 1994 - 1st prize International Guitar Competition in Cracow
  • 1995 - 1st prize, Grand Prix and the title of “The most Promising Performer” at the International Guitar Competition in Gdansk
  • 1995 - 1st prize at the International Guitar Competition in Castro Urdiales
  • 1996 - 3rd prize at the A. Tansman Memorial International Musical Personalities Competition in Lodz ( the only Pole among the prize winners, the youngest entrant and the highest classified guitar player)
  • 1997 - 2nd prize at the 40th International Guitar Competition in Tokyo
  • 2000 - 3rd prize ( 1st was not awarded ) at “Julian Arcas “ Guitar Competition

Kuropaczewski took part in master classes in Poland and abroad (Spain, the Czech Republic, Germany).

He recorded for programme II of the Polish Radio, and the TV in Szczecin, Poznan and Strasburg. He performed concerts in many cities in Poland as well as in Spain, japan, France and Egypt.
